Today's first Thanksgiving game features an NFC North clash between the visiting Green Bay Packers and the host Detroit Lions.
DraftKings Sportsbook has the Lions as 7.5-point favorites over the Packers.
This is an open thread for game chat.
Below some of the BTB staff made game picks using Tallysight. Check them out and the explanation for the picks.
Dave Halprin: The Lions have solidified themselves as one of the best NFC teams and are at ahome. That is too much for a Green Bay Packers squad trying to find an identity post-Aaron Rodgers. Lions by 10.
Tom Ryle: I’m believer in what Dan Campbell has built in Detroit. The Lions are vying for the top seed and the Packers certainly look beatable. This has often been a real dud on Thanksgiving, and I don’t think that will change, but for very different reasons this year as I think Detroit will put their division rival away early.
David Howman: Detroit had a scare against the Bears and somehow managed to pull off the last second victory. I expect that to fuel their efforts this week against a similarly overmatched Packers group. I’ll take the Lions winning 38-24
Matt Holleran: Detroit has been the shock of the NFL this season and I see them continuing to roll on Thanksgiving day. The Packers’ offense does not have enough firepower to keep up with the Lions and I see Detroit winning this one easily. Give me the Lions, 27-14.
Brian Martin: How could you not want to play for Dan Campbell or like what he’s accomplished in such a short time as Detroit’s head coach? He has this team pretty much firing on all cylinders and Green Bay looks to be there latest victim. Give me the Lions by 10.
RJ Ochoa: The Lions are one of the most fun stories in the NFL right now and for the first time in forever it seems like everybody is legitimately looking forward to watching them on Thanksgiving. There is zero way that they lose this game in my mind. I’ll take Detroit in a big win, something like 27-13.
OCC: Don’t particularly care for either team. Dan Campbell this, Dan Campbell that; bad cheese puns here, cheeseheads there. Lions for the home win.
